KITCHEN & DINING - The heart of every family vacation is time spent around the table, and Thunder Mountain Sanctuary was built with that in mind. The spacious, fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and everything needed to prepare everything from pancake breakfasts to holiday dinners. The open-concept layout allows the chef to stay part of the conversation while meals are prepared, and the large dining table offers plenty of room for everyone to gather together. Whether you're enjoying pizza after a day at Dollywood or cooking your family's favorite recipes, this is where some of the best vacation memories are made. OUTDOOR AREAS AND DECKS- There's nothing quite like ending a Smoky Mountain day outdoors. Spend your mornings watching the mountains come alive with a cup of coffee, enjoy family cookouts on the gas grill, or gather on the deck to watch the sunset paint the mountains in shades of gold and orange. As evening falls, soak in the private hot tub while the kids make s'mores around the fire pit, and everyone shares stories beneath a sky full of stars. These outdoor spaces were designed to help you unplug, reconnect, and enjoy every moment together. RECREATION AREA - Rain or shine, there's something for everyone at Thunder Mountain Sanctuary. The private indoor heated pool means swimming season never ends, while the arcade offers hours of friendly family competition. When it's time to wind down, grab the popcorn and settle into the private theater room for movie night. They include 2 trash bags, 2 dishwasher pods, a paper towel roll, a small liquid dish soap bottle, toilet paper, a small bottle of shampoo, body lotion, body wash, conditioner, and a soap bar for each bathroom, towels, a bed, and linens. They are designed so that you are all set when you arrive, but not to last the entire trip. • Less than 10.6 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, and access to all the area has to offer, which includes its great restaurants, shopping & Smoky Mountain National Park. • Less than 5 Miles to Pigeon Forge & 8.3 miles away from the entrance to Dollywood/Splash Country! • Our proximity to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park means there is lots of wildlife in our area - black bears, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, and more! Black bears visit the cabin often in Spring, Summer, and Fall. You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of one of these residents while enjoying the view from the deck. We also contract regular monthly pest services, which treat all pests from multiple types of bugs, mice, etc. Despite our regular treatments, given the proximity of the cabin to the park, it is possible these pests can temporarily enter the cabin. We immediately respond and treat if anything comes up, and have found it is very rare to come across anything like this.
Other Details to Note
The HOA in our community requires a rental agreement to be signed for all short term stays. This is an easy process to complete electronically after your booking. We will send you a link to review and digitally sign prior to your check in. We continue to take extra precautions to ensure extra cleanliness and prioritize guest safety: • All hard & soft surfaces cleaned with Micro-Ban™ including counters, vanities, sinks, floors, stair rails, cabinets, doors, furniture, beds, pillows, carpets, comforters, etc. throughout the cabin. • Lysol™ is used thoroughly on all compatible surfaces to clean and disinfect • Bleach-based cleaners used in all bathrooms and kitchens, that allow the use of chlorine products. • Linens (bedding, towels, etc.) – removed & washed offsite in temperatures exceeding those recommended for laundry operations, then packaged until the housekeeping staff is ready to put them out for guests. • Hot Tub -- Drained, cleaned, fresh Bromine added and refilled after every guest • The cabin is inspected regularly after cleaning and inspectors perform additional applications of protective products in the cabin, such as MicroBan and Lysol. • Cleaning staff received additional education on disinfection protocols and are furnished with protective gloves, changing them for fresh pairs as needed during cleaning & disinfection of the home.

Surrounded by lush forest and rolling mountain views, the area offers a quiet retreat from the bustle, yet you’re still conveniently close to top attractions in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Our close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park means there is lots of wildlife in our area - black bears, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, fox, and more! Black bears visit the cabin often in Spring, Summer and Fall. You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of one of these residents while enjoying the view from the deck. When you've had enough relaxation, look forward to endless entertainment in the surrounding area; you'll be in the perfect spot to explore through winding hiking trails and world-class ski slopes in the Great Smoky Mountains. Other local attractions can be found in downtown Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, including delectable restaurants, intriguing shops, the always-entertaining alpine slides, and even a moonshine distillery! During your time here, make sure to visit the Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area, which offers terrific skiing in the colder months, a ski mountain coaster, an aerial tramway, and many other thrilling attractions! The cabin is located on a mountain road. We strongly recommend trip insurance, especially during the Winter since there are no refunds for snow and ice. In difficult winter or storm-related weather situations, there can be delays in cleaning and check-in pending road conditions, which can be outside of our control.
