At Chestnut Cabin, you’re not simply booking a place to stay, you’re giving the whole family a Smoky Mountain vacation they’ll be talking about long after they head home! KITCHEN - The kitchen is designed to make cooking for a crowd easy and enjoyable. Featuring granite countertops, a spacious kitchen island, stainless steel appliances, ample counter space, and a fully stocked kitchen with cooking essentials, you'll have everything you need for family breakfasts, home-cooked dinners, and late-night snacks. Coffee lovers can choose between a Keurig and a traditional drip coffee maker to get each morning started right. The open-concept design connects the kitchen directly to the dining and living spaces, so whoever is cooking can still be part of the fun. The large dining table offers seating for 8, with 2 additional seats at the kitchen island and another 3 at the high-top behind the couch, creating plenty of options for your group to gather together. OUTDOOR AREAS AND DECKS- The outdoor spaces at Chestnut Cabin are every bit as fun as the inside! Multiple levels of decks offer outdoor chairs and side tables where you can relax, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and take in the beautiful surrounding scenery and sunsets. On the lower deck, soak your cares away in the private hot tub after a full day exploring the Smokies. Then challenge the family to something you don't find at your average mountain cabin: your own outdoor bowling lane! Set up the pins, grab a bowling ball, and see who earns bragging rights for the vacation. A gas grill is also available for cookouts, while the various decks provide plenty of places to slow down and enjoy your time in the mountains. RECREATION AREA - Chestnut Cabin takes family entertainment seriously! The loft game room is packed with activities, including a pool table, shuffleboard, dart board, Mortal Kombat, Ms. Pac-Man, a multicade arcade system, and a driving arcade game. With its colorful arcade atmosphere and wide variety of games, everyone can find something to play. Downstairs, the separate Gaming Den offers a completely different experience with two Xbox systems, cozy seating, and vibrant retro video-game murals. It's a fun space for kids and teens, and probably more than a few adults, to hang out and game. When it's time to wind down, head to the private theater room and settle into the reclining theater seating for movie night. Custom murals, classic-car décor, and twinkling lights transform the space into your own private cinema. And don't forget the outdoor entertainment! The lower deck features a private bowling lane, giving your group another unique way to play while enjoying the mountain setting. They include 2 trash bags, 2 dishwasher pods, a paper towel roll, a small liquid dish soap bottle, toilet paper, a small bottle of shampoo, body lotion, body wash, conditioner, and a soap bar for each bathroom, towels, bed, and linens. They are designed so that you are all set when you arrive, but not to last the entire trip. • Less than 8 miles from downtown Gatlinburg, with access to all the area has to offer, which includes its great restaurants, shopping & Smoky Mountain National Park. • Less than 3 Miles to Pigeon Forge & 5 miles away from the entrance to Dollywood/Splash Country! • Our proximity to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park means there is lots of wildlife in our area - black bears, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, and more! Black bears visit the cabin often in Spring, Summer, and Fall. You may get lucky and catch a glimpse of one of these residents while enjoying the view from the deck. We also contract regular monthly pest services, which treat all pests, including multiple types of bugs, mice, etc. Despite our regular treatments, given the proximity of the cabin to the park, it is possible these pests can temporarily enter the cabin. We immediately respond and treat if anything comes up, and have found it is very rare to come across anything like this.
Other Details to Note
We continue to take extra precautions to ensure extra cleanliness and prioritize guest safety: • All hard & soft surfaces cleaned with Micro-Ban™, including counters, vanities, sinks, floors, stair rails, cabinets, doors, furniture, beds, pillows, carpets, comforters, etc. throughout the cabin. • Lysol™ is used thoroughly on all compatible surfaces to clean and disinfect • Bleach-based cleaners are used in all bathrooms and kitchens, which allow the use of chlorine products. • Linens (bedding, towels, etc.) – removed & washed offsite in temperatures exceeding those recommended for laundry operations, then packaged until the housekeeping staff is ready to put them out for guests. • Hot Tub -- Drained, cleaned, fresh Bromine added, and refilled after every guest • The cabin is inspected regularly after cleaning, and inspectors perform additional applications of protective products in the cabin, such as MicroBan and Lysol. • Cleaning staff received additional education on disinfection protocols and are furnished with protective gloves, changing them for fresh pairs as needed during cleaning & disinfection of the home. • 2 Pets allowed with a fee. • Please note that pet fees are automatically charged through Airbnb when pets are listed in the guest count.

During your stay, you'll enjoy access to the resort's seasonal outdoor swimming pool, beautifully maintained paved roads, gated entrance, street lighting, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Whether you're spending your days exploring the mountains or relaxing at the cabin, Sherwood Forest provides a quiet, scenic setting with all the conveniences of being close to town. Mountain Travel Notice: Sherwood Forest is a mountain community, and weather conditions can change quickly during the winter months. Four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and/or tire chains are recommended during wintry weather. We encourage guests to plan accordingly and be prepared to enjoy cozy cabin time indoors until road conditions are safe for travel if winter weather occurs. The Sherwood Forest Resort maintenance team works diligently to keep the community accessible and will begin treating the roads with salt or brine as soon as they are safely able to access the resort. While every effort is made to maintain the roads, mountain weather can be unpredictable, so we recommend checking the forecast and planning accordingly before your trip.
